The Haringey Archive and Local History is in a rather wonderful building, Bruce Castle. https://www.brucecastle.org/research/visiting-archive
Which was formerly known as the Lordship House. It is a Grade I listed 16th-century manor house on Lordship Lane, Tottenham, London. Now named after the House of Bruce who formerly owned the land on which it is built.
The house was the home to Sir William Compton, the Barons Coleraine and Sir Rowland Hill, among others. After serving as a school during the 19th century, a large extension was built to the west. It was later converted into a museum exploring the history of the areas now constituting London Borough of Haringey.
I visited the archive last month, my great grandfather was the headmaster of a local school, amongst the records the wonderful archivist found for me were the log books, an amazing reflection of life in 1918, something we can all relate to today.
